Monday 15 January 2018,23:59 hrs: Final deadline for submission of the media theory paper – deadline. The end is in sight and the prokrastination changed into productivity with the delivery date in sight. 

The start into the new year took place entirely in the minds of the master students. No seminars, no lectures, but still the brain was properly challenged. After all, this week they had to crack some hard nuts: Understanding theories, transferring them to the media, and at the same time inventing some future.

The tenth week was all about the future: On Monday in media theory class, where future-oriented design was in focus, as well as on Wednesday. Because it was „Schulterblick“ time. The first milestone of the master degree! In 25 short presentations, the students reported about their current status of their master thesis.

Seven weeks of the master course have now been passed already. During the last few days students intensely evaluated essays of Adorno and Negus and have been subsequently inspired by diverse lectures during the Kurt- Schwitters-Symposium „Design and Mimesis“.

The first month of the master programme ‘Design and Media’ has passed: first impressions could be gathered from the yearly presentations of last year’s class. Additionally, the students received their first proper theoretical lessons regarding a variety of subjects like dealing with different kinds of media and developing their own personal strategies to stay motivated.

Off we go: The Master-Campus at Hochschule Hannover was starting again on September, 5th and the mdm lab is seeing a lot of new faces. Getting to know each other was the main focus for the first week. And as if the adventure of the upcoming studies wasn’t enough, the freshmen and ~women were reaching for giddy heights.
